In the archaeological park of Sibari there are the remains of three cities that have followed and overlapped over time: Sybaris, founded by Achaean colonists in 720 BC, Thurii, a Panhellenic city of 443 BC and finally Copia, a Roman city founded in 193 BC. The discovery and enhancement of the site which is of particular interest is due to the work of Umberto Zanotti Bianco dating back to the beginning of the last century.
